Hawthorn should probably be second. Eight wins from the last nine games with the only loss being a one point loss to Port in Adelaide. Granted only two of the wins were 'comfortable' but apart from the Swans, no other team is close when it comes to recent win/loss results.

They beat the teams below them like Saints, Eagles, North, Richmond, Adelaide, etc but when it comes to the contending teams towards the business end of the season they prove time and time again that their ladder position flatters them due to the fixture draw they have up until this point

Bad timing for GC to finally have their best chance at an away win but North are finally playing better. The only option is to tip North, Suns are a completely different team away from home.

I'd say if it was at the MCG you would have a good argument for the Hawks, but considering they've never played at Geelong (in the past 14yrs) and GMHBA being a tough place to generally win, I think the cats win easily.

Wild if the Lions shoot up past the Bombers by rounds end. Have a feeling GC will win big with a statement and St Kilda a sneaky chance for some reason.

I don't think it is time to write off Melbourne for the season. As it stands they are 1.5 games behind third place on the ladder. All teams down to Hawthorn are still a legitimate top four chance. Any side that wins threr in a row will start to look threatening.

It would be very Freo to lose to the tiges this week.

I think GC have to make a statement and put north away early and keep the foot down. They have the midfield depth that should expose North. If they can not beat NM away then it is just another year of unfulfilled potential.

This game could have gone very differently if WC could have kicked straight early. Confidence and form can ebb and flow with small things.

Fantastic video, can't believe the mainstream media that reports on speculative contract talks on players that are still contracted for the next 1 and 2 years. I feel that it would destabilise/reduce a players value and standing at their current club and also has the potential to effect their confidence and playability.

It may have been a lacklustre performance by the Eagles but they played against a very tough oppo. Hawthorn is the 2nd best team over the last 7 weeks of form, above Carlton and Brisbane, who are 3rd and 4th best on form! It was always going to be a difficult game.
